Résumé : Informations:

Le pilote Jacques Struelens (1925-2006) a trouvé ces photos abandonnées (oubliées ?) dans un avion de la RAF dans lequel il transportait des soldats américains.
Jacques Struelens a ensuite travaillé à la Sabena.
Il les a donné à sa mort Mr Charles Rohonyi alors secrétaire communal de Waterloo.

3. Survivors tell American soldiers and war correspondents the story of the massacre of their fellow inmates, who lies in a scattered heap on the ground before them. Approximately 30 prisoners were shot and left lying as the Fourth Armored Division approached the camp.

This heap of ashes and bones represents only one day’s killing of prisoners by storm troopers in the concentration camp at Weimar. Each day, a similar pile of ashes was brought out in the courtyard of the camp.

One of the escaped men shows colonel Hayden Sears where the prisoners were forced to sleep on filthy straw, infested with vermin which spread the disease that killed many of the men. one side of the building accommodated 98 prisoners, the entire building houses 196.
