Résumé :	Folk music plays host to an ideological struggle. Traditionnal songs have always mocked and satirised authority, and the idea of populist, largely art form has understandable apeealto the composers of political protest music. But conversely there is a chance that the perceived conservatism of the genre, coupled with the emphasys that it places on preserving "authentical" cultural traditions, can lend itself to the purveyors of some dangerous nationalist myths.
